Dr Noreen Mughal
MBBS, FRACP (Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians)
Dr Noreen Mughal is an established Consultant Physician and Geriatrician, who completed her advanced training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in WA and has been providing patient care in Perth Metropolitan since 2002. She has expertise in complex medical conditions, poly-pharmacy in the elderly, and all aspects of geriatric medicine including acute geriatric care, comprehensive geriatric assessments, perioperative medicine (providing comprehensive perioperative assessments and post-operative inpatient care), orthogeriatric care, and stroke and general rehabilitation.
Dr Mughal conducts outpatient clinics in her rooms at Wexford Medical Centre and Hollywood Specialist Centre offering memory assessment and management, comprehensive geriatric assessments, and management of complex and chronic medical issues.
At St John of God Murdoch Hospital Dr Mughal provides specialist medical and comprehensive multidisciplinary care for patients with a wide range of complex medical conditions. She also provides the same specialist care for inpatients at Hollywood Private Hospital and subacute care at South Perth Hospital.
At Hollywood's Rehabilitation Unit and Attadale Rehab Hospital, Dr Mughal provides comprehensive rehabilitation and reconditioning services for frail patients following major medical illness, surgery, falls or stroke, ensuring improved function and enhanced quality of life.
Dr Ricky Arenson
MBChB AMC FRACP (Endocrinology) FRACP (Geriatrics)
Ricky Arenson is a highly respected and caring Endocrinologist, renowned for his tireless dedication to patient care. He dual trained in Endocrinology and Geriatric Medicine in WA, as well as doing a 6 month elective in Endocrinology in the UK.
Dr Arenson works as a Consultant Endocrinologist at SJOG Murdoch and the Wexford centre. He is the Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine and a consultant specialist Endocrinologist at Royal Perth Hospital. Winner of an Outstanding Service Award for Royal Perth Hospital for 2018.
He won the "WA Clinical Educator of the Year" award in 2015, as well as being nominated for "Australian national clinical educator of the year". He continues to lecture widely on Diabetes and Endocrinology, and has been nominated for a WA award for student teaching. Dr Arenson is the Director of the Consultant support program at RPH and runs the WA annual teaching course for the Physicians' clinical exam.
Dr Aminath Laafira
MBBS, FRACP (Endocrinology), FRACP (General Medicine)
Dr Laafira is an experienced and caring Endocrinologist and General Physician, who believes strongly in holistic medical approach to health conditions. She works collaboratively with patients and care givers to achieve the best health outcomes.
She completed her medical degree on a merit scholarship at the University of Adelaide. She has worked in many hospitals across Australia, New Zealand and her birth country Maldives, before settling in Perth. She undertook her dual fellowship training in Western Australia and holds specialist registrations in both Endocrinology and General Medicine.
Dr Laafira currently has public appointments as a Consultant Physician at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Armadale Hospital. She manages acute medical inpatients at both hospitals and is involved in supervising and teaching doctors in training and medical students. She is also in-charge of the outpatient Diabetes Multidisciplinary Clinic in Armadale Hospital for complex diabetes patients.
Dr Laafira also works as an Endocrinologist in her private practice at the Wexford Medical Centre and carries out in-patient consultations for endocrine conditions at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
Dr Laafira accepts referrals for all Diabetes and Endocrinology related conditions.
Dr Gillian Scott
MBBCh MRCP(UK) FRACP (Endocrinology)
Gillian Scott is a respected and dedicated Endocrinologist and welcomes referrals in all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology, including:
- Type 1 and 2 Diabetes
- Osteoporosis
- Thyroid conditions
Dr Scott graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast in 2000 and trained in Northern Ireland before moving to Perth in 2006 where she completed Advanced training in Endocrinology and Diabetes.
Dr Scott works as a private Endocrinologist at SJOG Murdoch Hospital and at the Wexford Centre. She has public appointments as an Acute Physician and Endocrinologist at Royal Perth Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Emily Gianatti
MBBS FRACP
Dr Emily Gianatti is a caring and dedicated Endocrinologist with expertise in all aspects of management of endocrine disease and diabetes. Emily enjoys working with people to identify and achieve their health goals. She is experienced in working as part of a team that includes the patient, general practitioner and other health care professionals.
Emily completed her medical degree in 2000 at the University of Western Australia after having moved from rural Western Australia. She completed advanced training in Endocrinology in Melbourne in 2008. Emily was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne for her work examining the effects of testosterone treatment on the health of men with type 2 diabetes and in 2013 was awarded the prestigious Bryan Hudson Clinical Endocrinology Award by the Endocrine Society of Australia.
Since returning to Perth in 2015, she has been employed as a Consultant Endocrinologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital and is the Endocrine Lead of the Diabetes in Pregnancy Service. Emily also provides care to homeless people with diabetes as part of the team from 360 Health and Street Doctors.
Tim Lin
MBBS FRACP
Dr Tim Lin is an enthusiastic Endocrinologist and General Physician who prides himself on approachable patient centered care. He welcomes referrals for all aspects of endocrinology and diabetes management.
Dr Lin completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. He went on to advanced training in General Medicine and Endocrinology in Western Australia where he has had the opportunity to train in all three tertiary hospitals in addition to a range of outer metropolitan and regional locations. This broad range experience has led to diverse clinical interests in diabetes and all endocrine disorders.
In particular Dr Lin has interests in complex type 2 diabetes management and management of endocrine and bone disorders in patients with complex comorbidity.
Deila Dedic
BA (Hons), BSc, MBBS, FRACP
Dr Deila Dedic completed her MBBS as a postgraduate degree at The University of Western Australia following a combined degree in Bachelor of Arts (Hons) / Bachelor of Science. She subsequently undertook Advanced Training in Endocrinology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and finally at Monash Health in Melbourne where she did her Fellowship year at the Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism Unit.
Her special interest area is metabolic syndrome, especially diabetes mellitus and obesity in patients with complex comorbidities. She is a Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) World Obesity Federation certified clinician and a member of several organizations that drive research and management innovation in fields of clinical nutrition and metabolic syndrome, including the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society, the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, the Australasian Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. She is multilingual and speaks Bosnian, Italian and French.
Her other passion is teaching and mentoring medical students and junior colleagues. She is a tutor at Notre Dame University and involved in Junior Medical Officer teaching at Hollywood Private Hospital.
